15 Quarantine Food Trends That Every Foodies Tried

Everyone’s food game definitely stepped up during the quarantine period and here’s a list of the famous quarantine food trends from drinks, to mini versions, and anything baked!

1. Ube Cheese Pandesal

First on our list is the Ube Cheese Pandesal. Basically, our favorite hot pandesal leveled up with ube and cheese! No need to look for spread just worry about your cup of coffee or tea.

This one already trended last year and no virus can seem to bring it down with everyone making their own version at their own homes.

2. Baked Sushi

Another baked trend that never seems to end. A deconstructed version of the original Japanese rolled Sushi. And it didn’t end here since now, people are making other versions like Philly Cheese Steak and Baked Samgyup!

3. Mini Pancakes

It’s still a pancake but in a cute mini version! Just how cute are these!

Made this one myself and its no easy feat and of course, cooking takes longer than the usual. But people don’t seem to mind just to get that instagrammable mini pancakes. It’s also a good breakfast idea for your kids to eat (or for those kids at heart).

Aside from this, you can further up your mini pancake game by adding a Swiss Miss chocolate to the mix. If you love this drink, you’ll definitely love adding it to your pancake too!


4. Crispy Tuna Pie

This affordable and easy to make Tuna Pie surely made it on our list.

If you have tasty bread, canned tuna, onions, eggs, breadcrumbs/sky flakes, mayonnaise, cheese, salt, and pepper, you’re good to go!

5. Mojos

Everyone started making this when Shakey’s released its very own recipe!

This recipe only calls for 4 ingredients is easily done by peeling and slicing the potatoes then dipping it on breading. Fry it and enjoy your own mojos! Serve it with gravy for a full Shakey’s experience at home or create your own dip!

6. Cheesedog Bread Roll

An easy way to step up your basic bread, hotdog, and cheese combo!

Just flatten the bread, put hotdog and cheese, roll it, dip on egg and bread crumbs, then fry it!

You may also add mayo-ketchup but for me, it’s already good without it.


7. Max’s Tofu Sisig

While this one is fairly not new, it still got a spot on the most cooked recipe during the quarantine. Well, who doesn’t love Max’s Tofu Sisig, right?

No need to spend a bunch with this recipe!

Aside from those snacks and dishes, people also miss enjoying their favorite cafe drinks. Of course, we have to do something about our cravings and recreate it, our own way!

8. Dalgona Drinks

A three-ingredient drink to level up your coffee, tea, or chocolate drink. Though this drink is not easy to make manually, I mean you need a mixer if you want to do make this in a breeze. Otherwise, expect to whisk it manually for about 15 minutes.

9. Kori Kohi

Another three-ingredient drink that every coffee lover will surely enjoy. Without spending a few bucks, you can enjoy this famous UCC coffee drink in the comfort of your own home.

10. Instant Vietnamese Coffee

Yup, there is such a thing. And guess what, this is a two-ingredient drink!

One thing that people noticed while going to the grocery store was the unavailability of this favorite drink. Well, seems like this drink was also an “essential” during the quarantine. A few stores even limit the number of packs you can buy just like the other essentials like alcohol, tissue, mask, etc.

And yes, without adding this drink to any other drink, you can level this up by simply putting straw or any stick and put it on the freezer. Viola! You now have a Yakult Popsicle!
