Restaurants in Lucena

Our Foolproof Go-To Restaurants In Lucena City

Many people have been asking me for restaurant recommendations in Lucena. It can be difficult to answer this question without knowing what type of food they are looking for. However, we have a few go-to restaurants in Lucena that I always recommend, regardless of the occasion. These restaurants are located in Lucena, Tayabas, and Lucban, which are just less than an hour away from Lucena.

You can find both classic Filipino dishes and Quezon province specialties at these restaurants. We have been dining at these restaurants ever since, and we have never been disappointed. I don’t always take photos of our food when we eat here, but I can give you some food recommendations based on our own personal favorites.

These restaurants are also a good option for large groups.

Here are my top four restaurant recommendations in Lucena, Tayabas, and Lucban.

1. Kamayan sa Palaisdaan

I’m not really sure how many branches Kamayan sa Palaisdaan has. I think, four? Kamayan sa Palaisdaan (old and new), Fisherlake, and Air Summit Gourmet. The ones we frequent are the Fisherlake and the new Kamayan sa Palaisdaan. If you are coming from Lucena, both are located on the left side.

Fisherlake is the modern version of Kamayan sa Palaisdaan. They have floating and sunken cottages where guests can enjoy eating while their feet are on the water with fish.

On the same area of the Fisherlake is the Air Summit Gourmet. Air Summit Gourmet is the first and only airplane restaurant in the country offering a fine dining service. I haven’t tried this one yet but you can easily see this because it’s an airplane.

The food that we always order here are Liempo, Sinugno, Sinigang na Sugpo, Ensaladang Pako with sardines, Ginataang Suso with Pako, and Ensaladang Mangga. We also love their Sisig Pork, Sizzling Gambas, Chopsuey, and Pansit.

A must-try if you want to try Quezon specialties are their Sinugno, Ginataang Suso, Ensaladang Pako with Sardines, and Pansit Lucban.

When you enter the restaurant, you will see people selling Quezon delicacies and we always buy Pilipit and Buchi as a starter while waiting for our food.

Their operation hours differ from each branch so make sure to contact them first. You can reserve your table or just walk in. I would recommend making a reservation, especially during weekends and special occasions/holidays.

If you are in a hurry, this restaurant may not be for you. The wait time can vary from 15 minutes to 1 hour, depending on how busy the restaurant is. This is tried and tested, especially during weekends, holidays, and special occasions.

2. Bubbles Crispy Pata & Restaurant

Bubbles Crispy Pata is famous for its crispy pata (of course), but they also serve other classic Filipino dishes.

If you are going anywhere south like in Bicol, you will pass by this restaurant just before the Lucena diversion road.

Number 1 that you should try is, of course, their Crispy Pata as it is definitely one of the best. Other food that we love here is their Pork Sisig, Sinigang, Ensaladang, Chopsuey, Pansit, and Liver Steak.

Definitely, one of the best restaurants in Lucena!

Please note that Bubbles Crispy Pata & Restaurant does not accept reservations. They operate on a first-come, first-served basis. During weekends and holidays, lines can become crazy so, it is advisable to arrive early. For us, we just avoid the peak hours.

3. Samkara Restaurant & Garden Resort

Samkara Restaurant and Garden Resort is all about nature’s goodness in harmony with you.

Whether you are looking for a quick getaway or a more relaxing experience, Samkara would be the perfect destination. You can either go for a day trip or an overnight stay, depending on your preference.

You can enter the vicinity and tour around for free if you are dining in at their restaurant. But if you want to swim and enjoy their natural pool, you can also do so for Php 400. This rate is already inclusive of lunch and PM snacks and bringing food from outside is not allowed.

As for their food, I definitely love their Chami! I know this is Lucban but their Chami is just too good for me.

Other food I would recommend would be their Crispy Suman, and Turon de Samkara.

I also love that they have Butterfly Pea tea here!

There’s a lot more that Samkara has to offer and since they are pretty much new compared to the other 3 I have mentioned on this blog, I have yet to try their other dishes.

4. Buddy’s

Buddy’s is a Pahiyas festival-inspired restaurant from Lucban, Quezon that serves homegrown Filipino dishes. They already have a few branches in Manila so, you can easily find them there too. Though this one is available in Manila, sometimes we have visitors who haven’t tried this yet so, I still included this on this list.

Classic Lucban dishes include Hardinera, and Longganisang Lucban. Aside from that, we also love ordering their Fresh Lumpia, Pork Bbq, Chicken Bbq, and Pork Sisig. For merienda, we easily go for their Pansit Habhab, Chami, Bihon, or Miki Bihon and Buddy’s Pizza! While their pizza is not particularly special, it is perfect for merienda. If you are looking for desserts or refreshments I would suggest their Leche Flan, Sago’t Gulaman, and Halo-Halo.
