My friend has been talking about Cornelia’s Plate which is located in Tayabas and brought us here to have late lunch/merienda.
The restaurant is located on the 3rd floor so, be ready to climb the stairs. It is also located near the church so it’s a bit easy to find, just look up in one of the highest buildings near and you’ll see the place.
Love the vibe! It was overlooking and somehow reminds me of the famous rooftop cafe in Manila Cathedral especially that it was also overlooking the Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel in Tayabas.
The place was ventilated but can still get a bit hot especially at noon so, it would be better if you would dine in at night or before night time. Well, in our case, we asked them to put two electric fans on our side since there were a few people dining in.
We’re all hungry so, we ordered a lot. We actually ordered almost everything on their menu from pasta, burgers, and main meals because we’re hungry like that.
Since the location is a bit hot, it is also the perfect time to order fresh fruit shakes!
We, each ordered fruit shakes, and here’s our verdict.
Cucumber Lemon Fruit Shake – this is the most refreshing drink of all. Right flavor, and sweetness. Totally refreshing!

Strawberry Fruit Shake – ordered this one since I love strawberries and I was really hoping that it would be good. And it is! Though we all thought that the fruit shakes would be 100% fruit I think it wasn’t the case since I can taste the strawberry syrup. Well, still good for its price, and would definitely buy it again next time.

Raspberry Fruit Shake – just like how raspberries taste like, this drink has a tarty flavor yet refreshing too!

Avocado Fruit Shake – our least favorite among their fruit shakes. My friend told me that the avocado tastes overripe or maybe they have included a bit of the fruit’s skin. Both of my friends who ordered this weren’t able to finish their drink because of the aftertaste.
Well, I thought this was the safest fruit shake to order but apparently not. LOL.

For starters, we ordered nachos. The staff at the cashier was really nice and said that she would have it served immediately. Just how we want it! Well, appetizers should be served before the main meals, right? I am saying this since based on my experience in most of the restaurants here in our province, appetizers are served together with the main dishes or sometimes the main dishes were served first. That’s if you didn’t ask them to serve it first. It’s a case-to-case basis but it’s a plus point for them for offering it to be served first. Also because we’re already hungry and wanted to eat something before the main meal.
Nachos – didn’t ask what kind of nachos they offer. We just ordered 2 since we didn’t expect that the serving size would be that big. Well, it’s a meaty type of nachos and we all loved it!

For the main dish, it’s been a while since I ate steak so, my instinct was to order one when I saw one!
Grilled Steak with Mashed Potatoes – was actually torn between choosing steak and pasta since I thought, their steak wouldn’t somehow be that good. I mean, look at the price. It only cost Php 289. Wasn’t expecting anything with that price but look at that plating! Looks so good and it indeed smells so good too! I still have hesitations until I took my first bite. Yuummm!!! I like the crispy vegetables, gravy, and mashed potatoes too!
It was juicy and tasty. Definitely taste more than it’s worth.

Grilled Steak with French Fries – same grilled steak from the one above but with different side dishes. Tastes the same and we like the fries too.

Seafood Pasta – I asked them what are their specialty dishes and it includes this pasta and the Grilled Steak.
You can have this with either white or red sauce. I asked which one sells better and the staff told me that it would be the white sauce. A creamy seafood pasta indeed. Got no complaints. It was rich in both flavors and toppings! The pasta to meat ratio is 100% approved!

Creamy Beef Pasta – another creamy pasta but this time, with beef! Definitely tastes good too and perfect for those who love beef.

Cheeseburger – another food that I thought “wouldn’t be any better than the ones I have already tried”. Well, I was wrong again.
Juicy, delicious, and meaty cheeseburger it is!!! Yes, if you are craving burgers, this one would be your best bet.
Also, if you have been following my blogs, this is one of the reasons why I was not that much satisfied with my recent burger escapades.

Tuna Steak – again, didn’t have high expectations on this one because of its price but it exceeded my expectations. Really loving all their food here!
The tuna was perfectly grilled and seasoned. Served with a dip which makes it taste even better and a salad. I love their salad too which is served with I think is a honey mustard dressing. Definitely a complete meal alone and very satisfying. Also, I love that it has plenty of salad.

Burger Steak – another must try that costs less than Php 150! Yuuuummm!
Served with a cup of java rice, gravy, lots of veggies, and mushrooms. Beautifully plated and served sizzling hot!

Cornelia’s Philly Cheese Steak – this is our least favorite from all the food we have tried. It was too plain and we were looking for more meat flavor and more cheese. But looking at its price, I couldn’t complain that much.

This place is definitely worth visiting. Foods are affordable and indeed taste good. We also love that they gave special attention to the food’s plating. Would definitely go back and try their other dishes.

I can’t choose among all the dishes we’ve tried since I love them all but I would definitely skip on the Philly Cheese Steak next time and try other pasta, burger, or rice meals.
