Mala Tang

Restaurant Quality Siomai And Wonton At Home!

I was finally able to try some of Mala Tang’s dim sum when a friend of mine went home from Manila to their province where they will pass by our City. Yay! Good thing their products were available even though I told them last minute that they can send me some of their products for me to try.

Anyway, as per my article about them, I have pretty much high expectations with their products since they told me that they sell “premium” frozen products. Also, prior to writing about them, I asked my trusted foodie friends if it was indeed delicious and they told me yes.

Siomai and Wonton

I was able to try their siomai and wonton together with their chili garlic.

Siomai – true enough, they used premium quality ingredients. They use both pork and shrimp to attain high-quality Chinese dim sum at an affordable price. For me, their prices are reasonable and affordable since we cannot compare it to other low-priced siomai in the market. It’s premiumness is evident from its appearance to taste.

Pork and Shrimp Wonton – you can have these steamed or fried depending on your preference. I tried both and I love the fried wonton better but both taste good. What I love about it being fried is its crispy wrapper. Definitely, it is another restaurant-quality product.

Chili Garlic – a must when eating any dumplings! The owner constantly told me that they are very proud of their products including this one. I thought to myself, “can chili garlic go bad?” I mean, it can only go bad if the garlic is burnt other than that, all chili garlic tastes a bit the same?

Chili Garlic

But Mala Tang proved me wrong. What sets them apart is their still crispy garlic which you can feel even if you are just getting it from its container using a spoon. Most of the chili garlic I have tried failed at maintaining the crispness of the garlic but their product is just perfect.
