We discovered an instragrammable cafe on our way back from our Laguna church hopping, Ferns Cafe! We just googled a cafe that we will pass by on our way home and found this. Glad we did! Every corner was instagrammable.

The place was cozy and their menu is perfect for a late merienda/early dinner for us.

We super love the homey and garden-like interior.

They can accommodate those having a teybolforwan or a teybol for big groups. Very nice!

Here’s what we ordered:

Cheesy Nachos

Nacho chips with vegetables, meat, grated cheese, and grated cheese.

Quite simple yet satisfying! The serving is quite big too.

Quesadillas

Toasted tortilla pie with your choice of filling, salsa, and cheese sauce. You can choose from cheese, chicken, or beef as your filling. We choose beef, of course!

Didn’t read that it was a “tortilla pie” on their menu so were a bit surprised when it came like this on our table. Nevertheles, it was another simple yet filling quesadillas!

Hawaiian Pizza

Bacon, pineapple, and mozzarella cheese.

Love that it has bacon instead of ham! Not that I don’t like ham but it added much flavor to this classic pizza. Very satisfying! Another simple yet filling dish.

Mango Caramel Crepe

Just had to have crepe when it’s available!

The crepes were not that thin but it was okay. The mangoes were sweet and tasted okay too. The serving was big and can be shared by 2 people.

For their drinks, they have a lot of options but they don’t have many options for non-coffee drinkers. They only have hot chocolate, smoothies, and fresh fruit shakes.

Since they don’t have tea or milk tea options, I had their Hot Chocolate.

Hot Chocolate

Hhhmmm… Not my type. It was too sweet and I don’t like the cocoa they used.

Cafe Latte

My sister said that the coffee wasn’t hot just like my hot chocolate. The coffee taste was strong and was quite nice but not that memorable for her.

I saw that they have a cookie jar at the counter so, I just had to get some.

The cookies were big. It was more on the crunchy side but is soft too. Love the big nuts and chunks of chocolates on it but it was a bit more on the sweet side. It was okay but not my type of cookie. I forgot its price since it wasn’t on their menu but I think it was less than a hundred pesos.

Overall Rating

The staff was accommodating and friendly.

Love that their food was simple yet filling. The food was not on the high in terms of flavor but it was somehow comforting and we enjoyed almost everything.

I would definitely come back again and try out their other food! Ferns Cafe can be your cafe stopover if you are traveling from Manila to San Pablo, Lucena, or anywhere further down the south. It was just beside the highway and you can see ferns surrounding the cafe. It is also wazeable and quite easy to find. They have a parking area so you won’t have to worry about it too.

Serving time was reasonable for a cafe. Their menu consists of different dishes that are perfect for brunch, lunch, merienda, dinner, or even snacks before they close at 9pm.

Our only concern was it was a bit hot on the 2nd floor since they just opened the aircon when we arrived. We could have seated downstairs but they have a bigger table on the 2nd floor which we choose since we are a big group.
