Lola Nena's

Lola Nena’s Old Fashioned Donuts And Its Filled With Cheese!

Lola Nena’s is a local food shop that is known for their “chewy, melt-in-your-mouth Pichi-Pichi” and other merienda products. They have been around since 2013 and I just found out about them because of their now famous, Classic Donuts.

@hungrymanila suggested that I should Lola Nena’s since their donuts are gaining popularity in Metro Manila. So, okay, instead of asking my sister to buy us J.Co donuts, or Cinnabon, I told her to buy this instead.

These donuts were cooked the traditional way — with flour, sugar, and margarine. Each piece is light and airy yet dense and filling! I was also surprised that the donuts are big, you can easily get full eating a piece or two! They offer two flavors, Classic and Triple Cheese Donuts. Of course, I just had to try both flavors!

Classic Donuts – soft and airy donut with melted cheese inside. I saw in photos that it also has sugar coating on top but it is no longer visible since this traveled from Manila to our province.

I love its sweet and salty flavor combination. If you are like me who wanted just a bit of cheese, you should go for this one.

Price: Php 160
Table for: 8 pieces
Food Rating: 5/5

Triple Cheese Donuts – the same soft and airy donuts with triple the amount of cheese!

They recommend reheating the donuts in the oven for a few minutes and enjoy its soft donuts and gooey cheesy inside. I tried it both reheated and not and it both tastes good but yes, reheating it would make for better-tasting donuts! Also, you could see those cheese melting in the middle.

I ordered via GrabFood so the prices are higher. If you are going to order directly from their store, the Classic Donuts only cost Php 120 while the Triple Cheese Donuts cost Php 200.

These donuts can last up to 48 hours when stored at room temperature and can last up to 7 days when refrigerated.

Aside from their pichi-pichi and now famous classic donuts, they also offer Siopao Tostado.
