Fast Food in UAE

Trying Out Famous Pinoy Fast Food Restaurants In UAE

It has been a tradition of mine to try out famous Pinoy fast food chains whenever I go out of the country. At first, my only reason was to try McDonald’s desserts when I went to Malaysia since I saw that they are offering desserts not available in the Philippines. Now, I am not only trying their desserts but also the different food they are offering.

On our first day in UAE, we ate Paratha and Chai Karak for breakfast. Then, for lunch, we had KFC, and McDonald’s. I ordered McDo while they ordered KFC and I was able to try their food. Perks of traveling with your sisters! Hihi.

McDonald’s

McDonald’s here offers desserts like muffins, cookies, croissants, donuts, and a lot more! Of course, I immediately looked at their desserts. There’s no special flavored ice cream though. So, for dessert, I ordered a donut.

Btw, forgive my photos since we’re already hungry so, I had to take quick photos. Well, this is the case in most of our food trips in UAE. Haha.

Choco Ball Donut

A chocolate donut with cream chocolate filling. The sweetness is just right for me and I love it! Yum!

A perfect way to end a meal!

Here in UAE, when they say large, don’t expect that you can do the TikTok trick where a regular-sized drink can fit the large cup. It was really large and there’s no way you can do that here. LOL.

My sister and I were so thirsty and wanted something really cold so we ordered a large drink but we didn’t expect that everything will become automatically large too. (We’re too stunned to speak.)

Ang saya ng large nila rito. Haha. Take note, I think this only applies to fast food restaurants here and not in fine dinings. I also tried going large when I dine in at Warner Bros but the drink size is almost the same as the ones we have here in the Philippines.

For the food, we tried their McArabia Chicken and the Chicken Bbq Wrap. I think these ones are part of their regular menu here.

McArabia Chicken

It has two grilled Halal chicken patties with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and garlic mayonnaise wrapped in Arabic bread.

McArabia Chicken

First thing, this was really huge. It was more than double the size of my hands. Two people can definitely share if you are both small eaters or if you have other food.

McArabia Chicken Review

It was delicious! It has the right balance of everything in contrary to the strong taste of their spices. Well, I don’t actually taste any spices here which I didn’t expect. It was plain but satisfying. The chicken patty was also huge, perfect for the size of its bread and it has enough filling, “hindi madamot”. Plus point that their Arabic bread has black sesame seeds.

Bbq Chicken Wrap

If you’re into spicy food, you can try their Spicy Chicken Wrap instead of this Bbq Chicken Wrap.

This Chicken Wrap is smaller than their McArabia Chicken but still big enough and it tastes good too. I actually like this one more since it has bbq sauce which adds more flavor to it. It also has a generous filling! I also love that they put a lot of lettuce here.

Bbq Chicken Wrap

On the other hand, this one is lighter since they used wrap compared to the McArabia Chicken which uses Arabic bread.

P.S. Another photo that does no justice to the goodness of the food. Haha.

Someone asked me if there are a lot of vegan options here in UAE, and the answer is yes! Even fast-food restaurants offer vegan options like Veggie Deluxe from McDonald’s which is a guilt-free veggie burger with spicy tandoori sauce. Some of them even have a separate menu for vegans. In addition to that, they also offer teas here! Love it!

KFC

For our second fast food chain, KFC!

KFC’s menu here includes twisters and zingers too!

Chicken Rice Meal

Their Chicken Rice Meal comes with 2-piece chicken, basmati rice, a drink, and you can choose from their 2 sauces: arrabbiata or pepper chili sauce. If you don’t want basmati rice, you can get white rice with your chicken which is called the Kabayan Meal.

Chicken Rice Meal with Pepper Chili Sauce

The pepper chili sauce is basically just a hot sauce for your chicken. It wasn’t too spicy and I just put a few drops on my chicken since I still prefer their gravy. If I would choose this again as my sauce, maybe not since I am not really into hot sauce, a drop or two of this is already enough for me.

KFC Dubai Review
Chicken Rice Meal with Arrabbiata Sauce

The arrabbiata sauce isn’t too spicy as well but it has an overwhelming taste of different spices. I just put a little on my chicken since the taste is overwhelming for me. If I will order this again next time, maybe not? It was worth trying but I’d still go for their classic gravy next time. If you’re into flavorful sauces, go for this so you can try it out yourself.

For the drink, you can upgrade your soft drinks to Lemon Mint Tea for an additional Dhs 1. Their Lemon Mint Tea is a must-try since it tastes like they used real tea and it tastes good! A really refreshing drink!

Too bad I wasn’t able to try Jollibee here. I wanted to try their Curry-flavored Chicken Rice Bowl! Aside from that, my sister told me that their Spaghetti tastes different but in a good way. Too many food to try, so little time! Ugh…
