The Qasab Turkish Cuisine

Dining At Dubai’s Iconic Waterfront destination: The Pointe

After going to the Miracle Garden, we dropped by Bluewaters then head straight to The Pointe in Dubai. My sister told us that the cost of food at The Qasab is quite reasonable so, I no longer searched for other restaurants in the area plus I wanted to try some Turkish food.

While scanning the menu, I thought to myself, “these are expensive, these are not affordable”. Haha.

Anyway, we were already seated so, we just ordered and of course, we got the table with the best view.

Complimentary Turkish Bread and Yogurt

After ordering, they served us complimentary bread and yogurt.

This is a perfect starter and I really loved the yogurt!

Hummus

Famous dip spread or savory dish made from cooked mashed chickpeas blended with tahini.

One of the things that I really loved in Dubai was the presence of pomegranates! Specifically love the pomegranates on top of this delicious and also one of the best hummus! Just look at that!

Price: 35 AED

Kids Turkish Style Pizza

Thin crust dough topped with Turkish Sausage, tomato, mushroom, and green chili.

Turkish Pizza

The crust wasn’t super thin but it was thin.

It has enough toppings but it was too bland for our liking. I added ketchup, chili peppers, and a bit of mayonnaise on top to add more flavor to it. It was my first time adding mayonnaise to pizza and it tastes quite good.

Love that cheese though!

Ordered this since we are looking for something less expensive on their menu. The kid’s pizza was big and has 6 slices.

Price: 45 AED

Mix Grill

This was recommended to us by the staff at The Qasab since it is good for sharing. Also, grilled dishes are one of their bestsellers. This Mixed Grill has veal, grilled chicken skewers, pork skewers, and beef if I remember it right. This was legit delicious! Best Kebab in Dubai

Love everything here, especially the lamb! At first, we were looking for more rice but didn’t order since we still have other food.

Traditional Doner Kebab

Grilled Mix was served with bulgur, potato wedges, green chili, and tomato.

Price: 119 AED

Kiwi Juice

Since water ain’t free here, we ordered some refreshments too.

The Kiwi Juice was refreshing. Tastes like real fruit to me!

The Qasab Special

A refreshing drink mixed with apple, orange, lime, and passion fruit.

Since it was “the special” drink, we ordered it. It was refreshing too.

I wanted to have some desserts too but we almost weren’t able to finish everything and thought we might as well just try other restaurants.

A little bit of a side story… We’re still trying to finish the Turkish Bread and yogurt and since we’re already full, we decided to take a break and just enjoy the view for a moment. We were shocked when the staff started removing everything on our table without asking us. We’re actually annoyed since we felt like they were already asking us to leave. So, we asked them to give us our bill. After they cleaned up our table, they brought us Turkish Tea! Ohh, okay. That was the reason why they cleaned our table. LOL.

Turkish Tea

I don’t know how Turkish Tea tastes like but I know that they use black tea. The Turkish Tea was served in this unique curved glass and you have to be careful since the glass is hot.

Turkish Tea

Since I love tea, I really enjoyed this. It was a bit bitter and at the same time sour, and has an astringent taste? I added sugar since it is better off with it. To make it short, it tastes like Lipton’s Black Tea (the only tea I can compare it to).

Definitely, a perfect way to end a meal!

Overall Rating

As expected with the lovely beach and Atlantis The Palm view, I think the price was reasonable at The Qasab. Though I must admit that there are other good Turkish Restaurants and other food to try that are affordable in Dubai. The whole dining experience was filling and relaxing with the view of Dubai’s Iconic Waterfront. The service was fine though we did not expect them to clean our table without asking us. We also weren’t sure if this is normal but one of the staff is Pinoy so, we thought they should at least ask or inform us? Anyway, I would still recommend The Qasab if budget isn’t an issue or if you want to splurge a bit and enjoy dining at The Pointe in Dubai!

For the food, you should definitely not skip the Mix Grill or their Kebabs and other grilled dishes. It’s one of the best!

By the way, if you want to see The Palm Fountain or the largest fountain in the world come to life here, visit The Pointe in Dubai in the afternoon or before sunset.

After lunch having our lunch at The Pointe, we went to The Palm, Atlantis just to take good photos outside but we eventually decided to go inside. I was surprised that Gordon’s Restaurant, The Bread Street Kitchen was just there! I thought it would be somewhere inside The Palm where non-staying guests are not allowed. Also, I wasn’t planning on eating there all along as the food is quite expensive. Well, we already ate something expensive at The Qasab and I just muttered to myself, “I should have just eaten here instead...” Well, too late now. I cannot undo our lunch. LOL.

Since we hadn’t had dessert yet, I was thinking of getting a 19 AED gelato but I got disappointed when I saw someone got it in a plain cup. Well, I was actually expecting it to be a bit grand with some toppings on top. So, in short, I skipped it too. I was planning to go back here but due to our tight schedule, I wasn’t able to do so. Maybe next time in another country, I will be able to try that Beef Wellington!
