The BTS Meal: One-Of-A-Kind Menu Tour In The Philippines

The much-awaited BTS Meal is finally here in the Philippines! Filipino ARMYs were quick to reserve their slots for the BTS Meal Exclusive Release just to get their hands the day before its official release on June 18, 2021. Who doesn’t want to be the first to try it, right?

My sisters are new ARMY and they are claiming that I, myself is already an ARMY too but I wouldn’t admit it. 😂 But yeah, I also reserved a slot for the pre-release just because my sister will treat me, I’m a foodie, and I love purple. Does that count? 😂

So, we went to McDonald’s in SM City Lucena to claim our BTS Meal anticipating that there would be people lining up. To our surprise, there was no line at all and there’s an exclusive lane for the BTS Meal. Also, the store is designed with purple balloons. How cute! Plus we got our orders “smooth like butter”.

The BTS Meal contains the band’s signature order of 10-piece Chicken McNuggets, medium fries, and soft drinks. It is actually the same McNuggets we love but with limited-time sauces picked by BTS and inspired by McDonald’s South Korea.

The limited-time sauces include the Sweet Chili and Cajun Sauce which will add a little kick to your meal. Even non-BTS fans will surely want to get their hands on this meal!

Both sauces have a kick of spiciness which I honestly did not expect especially for the Sweet Chili. I expected it to make “life sweet as honey” while the Cajun Sauce to be spicier. Thinking about it, the sauces are inspired by McDonald’s South Korea so, I should have expected that.

Yes, it is definitely the sauces that make a whole lot of difference. The Sweet Chili Sauce is sweet yet spicy similar to the sweet and sour sauce but thicker in consistency and its spiciness is similar to the taste of gochujang or the Korean Red Chili Paste. The Cajun Sauce on the other hand is creamy and savoury with just a hint of spiciness. Definitely less spicy than the other sauce. I love both sauces but my bias is their cajun sauce! I also love that it is something unique for us.

The packaging is definitely something we already expected as seen on posts from BTS fans in other countries. We also noticed that they are not folding the paper bags, (thought I should tell you that). McDonald’s Philippines must have anticipated that some Filipino ARMYs will also keep it in their BTS merch/collections.

You can see the ingredients list on its packaging which I specifically like about it too. The sweet chili sauce does not have gochujang but its flavor was pretty evident to me. The cajun sauce has dijon mustard, vinegar, and honey which explains its creamy yet savoury flavor.

Price: Php 260
Table for: 1
Cajun Sauce Rating: 5/5
Sweet Chili Sauce Rating: 4/5

If you are going to ask me if I would buy it again, I would say yes especially because of the Cajun Sauce but I’d share it since 10 pcs is quite a lot for me.
