FRNK Doughnuts

Reasons Why You Should Try FRNK’s Doughnuts

Without a doubt, FRNK is notably one of the food industries trying its best to provide us healthier food options when it comes to their drink and dessert like their doughnuts.

I love the color of their box. LOL.

FRNK doughnuts are oven-baked, not fried which makes them lower in calories compared to regular donuts. They use almond flour which is low in carbohydrates making it a food of choice for those who are on a keto diet. Plus they are gluten-free which makes them perfect for those with gluten sensitivities. Aside from that, the taste did not suffer from their attempt to making it a bit healthier.

Currently, FRNK is offering 6 doughnut flavors: the Kokoa Sesame, Spiced Cinnamon, Dirty Maccha, Ichigo, Kokoa Almond Chizu, and Kokoa Magma Doughnuts. You can buy it per piece or per box.

FRNK Signature Doughnuts – I was able to try their signature box which contains the flavors Kokoa Sesame, Spiced Cinnamon, and Dirty Maccha.

FRNK doughnuts are actually smaller than the usual donuts you can buy in the market. Another reason why theirs contains fewer calories. Another thing I like about them is that the ingredients used on their products are listed on the menu with the caloric count. It was like checking the label. And it is also a good thing for us to be aware of what we are eating, and how many calories we are consuming.

Kokoa Sesame Doughnut – the doughnut contains black sesame, almond flour, rice flour, eggs, vanilla, kokoa, milk chocolate. The drink is said to be best paired with FRNK’s Kokoa Miruku drink.

Kokoa Sesame Doughnut

I tried it alone, and since I love sesame, this is my number 1 out of the 3 doughnuts I have tried. And it gets better when paired with the Kokoa Miruku! Normally, you would assume that a milk tea and doughnut pairing would be too sweet but it is not the case for this one. Love the combination! The drink complements the doughnut and vice versa. And it would leave you wanting for more.

Price: Php 80

Food Rating: 5/5
Calories per piece: 109 calories

Each piece contains half the calories of a regular doughnut. A regular doughnut would contain more or less 200 calories to 400 calories (or sometimes more) depending on the size and flavor (filling and toppings).

Spiced Cinnamon Doughnut – made with Uiji kyoto, black tea almond flour, rice flour, eggs, vanilla, white chocolate, and milk chocolate. It is said to be best paired with FRNK’s Cinnamon Miruku drink.

Spiced Cinnamon Doughnut

I just ate this alone since I don’t have their cinnamon drink and it tastes good too. This is the sweetest among the 3 flavors but still with the right amount of sweetness. If you are a cinnamon lover, you’ll definitely love to get this one!

Dirty Maccha Doughnut – made with Uji kyoto maccha, almond flour, rice flour, eggs, vanilla, kokoa milk chocolate, kokoa nibs. This on the other hand, is best paired with FRNK’s Dirty Maccha drink.

Dirty Maccha Doughnut

Not actually a fan of matcha drinks but this one is definitely good. I remember having it last year and it made me like matcha. Also, the doughnut and maccha pairing are definitely on point. Personally, I didn’t like the doughnut alone but I enjoyed having it together with the drink.

When taken home, they suggest reheating the doughnuts by preheating the oven toaster for 5 minutes then heating the doughnuts for 20 seconds. I enjoyed it hot but I prefer having it straight from the refrigerator while enjoying my drink.

Overall, I like their doughnuts especially when paired with their milk tea. However, my family members did not like it as it “tastes too healthy” for them.

FRNK Doughnuts

Aside from these, they also have FRNK Premium Doughnuts which you can get for Php 849 for a box of 9. Flavors include Ichigo, Kokoa Almond Chizu, and Kokoa Magma Doughnuts.

FRNK doughnuts can be stored for up to 2 days chilled, and stored in an airtight container.

Aside from these doughnuts, they also offer cookies, brownies, and cakes. You can choose from their Homemade Cornflake Cookies,  Misu Caramel Kukki Nibblers, Japanese Chess Cookies, and The Best Nut Butter Brownie. For the cakes, they have Blueberry Tea Chizu, Flourless Ichigo Chizu, Kokoa Sesame Kookie Pie, Baked Purple Chizu, and Flourless Chizu Cake.
