Kapihan Sa Jeep: The New Normal Cafe In Quezon Province

Discovered this “kapihan” when we passed by Tayabas Passby Road when we went to Nanay Simeng’s Halo-Halo. Unfortunately, the place was packed with people lining up outside their restaurant so we’ve decided to have coffee somewhere instead. Then we saw this Kapihan sa Jeep and decided to try it.

Kapihan sa Jeep

The mobile coffee shop started its operation last November 2020 and was strolling around Quezon Province since then.

They were just starting to open when we came and there were already a few people lining up. Good thing we were early. There are other food stalls beside them like street food, siomai, and other snacks.

New Normal Cafe

They are offering a variety of freshly brewed coffee from Batangas, Benguet, Kalinga, Quezon, and flavors like Mocha, Avellana, Arabica, and UCC Coffee Mix. The coffee was displayed at the back of their jeep which serves as their bar.

At the time we went, they have Hazelnut Vanilla, Butterscotch, Mocha, Kalinga’s Robusta Coffee, Sagada’s medium and dark coffee, Benguet’s Arabica Coffee, Barako Excelsa, and Quezon’s Excelsa + Liberica.

Local Coffee

For those who do not want to drink coffee, you can have hot choco, tea, or hot chocolate tablea drink. Aside from that they also offer banana cake, dark chocolate, red velvet, and chocolate chip cookies for Php 20 each. All drinks were prepared as ordered and costs Php 35 each.

Hot Chocolate

I was torn between choosing coffee and hot choco but I saw that they put marshmallows on the hot choco instead of sugar. That’s when I decided to order hot choco. Marshmallows for the win! Hehe.

Chocolate Chip Cookies

All drinks were decent for their price. You can enjoy a hot cup of coffee or chocolate drink for just Php 35 and enjoy the view as well. I also like their cookies, most especially the Dark Chocolate Chip Cookies. The cookies were big and crispy which is one of the things I always look for in cookies.

They were organized and we’re happy with their service. Definitely, a decent mobile cafe to have along the way home!

Since the place can be packed with people, don’t forget to practice social distancing, and wearing a mask is a must!
